Selecting Profiles at Startup

I understand that you can't switch between profiles with Outlook open and I
understand why.

I like my outlook to open to my default profile, and have set it to do so.
However, I occasionally need to switch profiles. Is there any way to do
this, aside from going into settings, changing the option to "Prompt for a
profile to be used", opening outlook, then changing it back to the open that
opens my default profile?

I was thinking maybe there was some sort of switch I could add to the
shortcut on my desktop that would trigger the "select a profile to be used"
screen....

I'd rather not have to set up another whole user and use Fast User Switching
since I normally am working in Outlook while doing 100 other things and don't
want to dedicate the time to switching accounts.

When I restart outlook the dialog box for switching profiles does not appear.
I have the mail settings arranged so this should happen every time I start
Outlook. What's wrong with Outlook? I'm using Outlook 2003 and a DSL
connection
