My IE 6 crashed very often usually when I tried to open a link. I tried
everything which I could find in this discussion group, but it didn't work.
So I did system restore to an earlier date in October and did Windows update.
The crash problem is solved by the restoration; however, it brought a new
problem: when I open a new window from a link or open a new tab, a message
window "Select Skin File" pops up. (I never had this problem before.) I
have to click open (after select a skin file) or cancel to close the window,
and it keeps coming back next time when I open a new window. How can I get
rid of such pop-up window? Thanks a lot in advance.

and disable it.June do you have any toolbars installed such as Viewpoint or
other? What add-on's do you have running in IE? Go to tools, use the drop
down to select manage add-ons. See what you have enabled and is running. If
you have additional toolbars running try disabling it and see if that works.
Or if you have something running related to "Select skin file" that you
recognize. I hope this helps.

Merry Christmas

IE asks to "select skin file" (skins)
Try uninstalling the Viewpoint toolbar in Control Panel-Add/Remove
