Somehow I have a window indicating in the blue bar -
Select Picture. It has a Search text box at the top,
Stop, Import, OK, and Cancel on the window. I can't enter
anything, I can't close the window or move within the
powerpoint presentation. Help - I do not want to loose
all my hard work

Had you tried inserting a picture from Clip Art just before this?

In any case, try pressing TAB while holding down the ALT key.

This will let you "cycle" from one open program to another in most cases. If
some other program is in front, it may let you get back to your PowerPoint
window.
