Select OS screen

In a failed attempt to install Norton's Firewall 2005, I had to perform a
"clean boot" using msconfig. Since then, I get this "Select which operating
system" screen every time I boot up. How do stop this from appearing?

I can't answer the question but I have a different question that fits under
the same topic. I dual boot and I want to change how long my computer waits
before it automatically chooses the highlighted operating system. It
currently waits 30 seconds, which is longer than is convenient. How can I
change it to about 10 seconds?

Graham,

Start/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/System. Click on the
Advanced tab of System Properties...Under Startup and Recovery, clck on
Settings. Make sure the Windows Operating System is set as the default
operating system and remove the check for "Time to display list of operating
systems".

Look at the reply to Graham...from here you can also set the time for
displaying the list of operating systems.

default is 30 seconds.
You can also adjust this in Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup
and Recovery > Settings > Time to display list of operating systems
