I recently reformatted my comp and reinstalled windows XP
prof. When I did so and restarted my computer it went to
the screen that you can choose which operating system to
boot when u have multiple OS, but I only have 1. There
were two options, windows XP Professional(normal), and
windows XP Professional setup(shouldnt be there). I dont
know why this is there and I cant get rid of it. It
wouldnt bother me other than the fact that my system
automatically chooses the setup option if I dont manually
select the OS. After selecting the windows setup option
it gives me a "files missing" error message, like its
looking for setup files but there obviously arent any. My
windows installation is working perfectly otherwise. Is
there any way to get rid of options on that selection
screen, or at least change which option it chooses as the
default after 5 sec???
sorry for the long post

Go to Start > Run and type in: MSCONFIG , and hit enter,
Click the BOOT.INI tab.
Next, click "Check All Boot Paths".
This procedure should correct your BOOT.INI file.
