At my office, for some reason that we cannot resolve I am being unsuccessful
in creating a mailmerge from the Outlook public folder (on the server), or
export from the public folder to an Excel file, and I won't waste your time
with the various problems.

What I am aiming to do now is to copy contacts from the public (Exchange)
folder to my personal Contacts folder, but the difficulty I am having is in
selecting by category. Even if I filter out the view to the category I want,
I end up with the whole lot. I am trying to avoid importing thousands of
records when I only want about a hundred.

Is there a simple way to achieve this?

I hope all the above is comprehensible - if not please ask.

Thanks
Fat Doris

Display the folder in the By Category view. Select the member of the category
and copy that to the other Contacts folder. If the category contains more
than you want, use click/ctrl-click to select a portion of the category.

Just what I wanted - thanks very much. I wish I'd asked you a couple of
hours ago, I'd have saved myself much bad temper.
