Seeking Basic Design Software

Hi,

I would like to find a software download that would allow me to draw basic
geometrical shapes. For instance, if one wanted to show the layout of a
kitchen or basic plan of a house or show the measurements of a bookcase one
wanted made.It needs to be entry-level and for the non-professional. I am not
interested in art work or logos, etc.
 
SmartDraw is pretty good I think they have a 30 day trial.
