LuckyStrike

I had been absent for a period of time, and haven't been observing
activities in the Inetexplorer.ie6 NG for quite a while. Now, I've been back
for maybe two or three weeks, and I've never seen (or at least don't
remember) so many posts with the behavior of commands, settings, IE
encountered an error & must close messages, and all of that. It seems as if
all has gone awry. Has the "nuisance-pestilence" level of Spyware/malware
gone over the top? What is all of this about? Is that what is at the root of
the bulk of these assorted problems? (But it appears as if some are
seemingly the same issue, over and over again)

I'm not interested in hearing some "Browser war/ Mozilla- Firefox/ Opera/
Netscape" thing. So, if you are going to post such.... please spare me. :-|

Hi LuckyStrike :-)

Another that seems to be making a regular appearance is that IE is crashing
or shutting down within a few minutes after opening. I've seen a good number
of these, and it does not seem like normal behavior for the scale on which
they are appearing. Most of these do seem to be due to pestilence or
malware.

Jan :)

Hi Jan -

Yeah, that has been an all too common occurrence of late. But look at the
bright side; maybe it's a blessing. If IE can't remain open but for a few
minutes, the time available for one to get yet another malware/spyware
"stowaway" placed onboard is substantially reduced! Not even enough time to
get on deck, let alone down to stowage. ;-))

Meanwhile, I must have deterred the "Get Firefox, etc." crowd. Mucho
responses. ;-D

Yep..not even enough time for the AV to decide if it was worth scaning. :-)

Yeah....okay, you got me there Jan. <bg> But I hate when the question gets
sidestepped, and it's suggested to get "Firefox".... when I already have it.

He he he....you know me! <g> Found a spot to light for a say or so to sit
out the rain for a spell to keep my powder dry, and managed to find a
friendly PC. :) Thought I'd peek in to see what everyone was up to while I
had a minute. And...w'll...just couldn't resist a good chance to toss a
funny bone on the table. ;-))

Ok then Jan... I'd guess you're not back at your regular station as yet, but
see that you've taken advantage of friendly territory to "bone" up on the
laffs. <s>

Yeah...just flew into Virginia on Sunday afternoon. Whooo!! That 2000+ mile
non-stop was really a doozie. My arms are *still* tired!! :)

It's raining a bit now, so catching up on a few things in the mean time.
Kinda hard to walk uphill when it's coming down to meet ya. I'll be out
this way for a while yet, but, might get a chance to pop in now and then.
Can't let ya'll get too far ahead of me. <s>

When they had enough Sheesh... I don't think Cheech and Chong knew the
difference themselves. <BG>
