When I used windows 95 and windows 98 I used admin
section on my windows 95 disk and I was able to set up
pretty tight security, to the point where I could keep
the desktop for the users blank and they would have to go
to programs to access things. Does anyone know if this
type of security is available on windows XP or if I can
still use my windows 95 disk to get this type of
security? Thanks in advance for any help.

I doubt the win95 disk would work. You could always try -
but don't be too suprised if you run in to expected
unexpected results. ;-)
From the basic install of xp, as far as i know, u cannot
limit a user's account so that they cannot add stuff to
the desktop. You could check the cd though and see if
there is something additional like on your win95 cd. As
admin you can always just goto the users account and
delete stuff off the desktop. But that would be
painstaking for a large company. That's all i can think
of right now.

Hi Dick,
You can check out the Group policy editor if you are running Windows XP
Professional. Type GPEDIT.MSC at Start>run..
