how do i delete files that appear to be in use by another user. i am reffereing to small notepad files that have been logging my keystrokes?

That is a very bad sign if you have keylogging programs installed on your PC. First of all, I would recommend getting a free Firewall software to block these programs (ZoneAlarm is pretty good).

If you try running our virus scanner (https://www.pcreview.co.uk/antivirus.php) you may be able to clear some of the problems up. Other than that, I suggest seeing if any suspicious programs appear in the task list when you press CTRL-ALT-DEL?

i have tried the ctrl-alt-del route and it is still in use when all programmes or applications are still running. will keep on trying.

thanks for the advice - i had a feeling it wasnt good!

Scanning is not necessarily too bad, as it is quite common. Unusual programs accessing the internet is your main concern (i.e virus).

Hope this helps (I'm sure it will)

Hello Iain

You could try logging into:-

http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

There is an excellent team of spyware, trojan and virus experts there who will help you clean up your system.

They all work voluntarily and there is no charge.

I speak as one who has used their services both on my computer and on those of friends.

Good luck

:D
