I really hope that Microsoft relaxes the security issues in Vista, I cannot
even access my pictures, with out getting an access denied message. Does
anybody know how to tone down security?

It is really driving me crazy If I go to file permissions it denies me any
changes I then sticks me in a continual loop.

I have RC1 installed, I can deal with the little bugs, but I think microsoft
has gone to far over the top with security, I cannnot do the things I once
did without a lot on complicated work arounds.

Perhaps would should hang the virus writers? But if this continues Microsoft
may not have a operating system to sell!

I am not Microsoft bashing, I have loved ever version of windows MS has
offered, even ME ( I have an autographed version). This is the first version
I love to hate. But it could be a great system with a little less intrusive
security!!!!!!

Wants : Allow those of us that have other security measure to turn off
features of Vista without the constant warnings that invaded our PC's.
Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I assume you're referring to UAC. This can be disabled by going to Control
Panel -> User Accounts -> Turn User Account Control on or off.

Hi,

Sounds like you were already messing with permissions, or perhaps you
upgraded and are trying to access files under your old user profile in the
Documents and Settings holdover from XP. By default, the user has full
control over folders within their user environment, but in Vista this is
under the Users directory. Control over system folders is restricted and
requires an acknowledgement from the user before access.

I don't have these problems. I think your upgrade is failed. Install Vista
as a clean installation (a new clean partition)
