Hi,
We just installed IE 7 and have the following problem:

When we drag and drop an icon shortcut to Links, some of them take us
directly to a web site.
Others give us the following Security Warning:
"File Download-Security Warning
Do you want to Run or Save this file."
If we click Run, we get another Warning as follows:
"Internet Explorer-Security Warning
The Publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to Run this
Software."
If we again click Run, it will eventually take us to the web site.

Is there a way to correct this problem so that all Links will take us
directly to it's web site?
Thanks

Try here - you are the third in the last couple of hours - this is not an
IE7 group. If you put betaware on your computer expect trouble.

Hi Antioch,
Thanks for the reply.
FYI and others.

Something happened to IE6 on my computer last evening. When I tried to close
it, I started getting multiple IE6 Windows that were opening. Sometimes it
was 18 or more IE6 Windows. When IE6 finally closed, I could no longer find
it on my computer. It even removed the icon from my desktop.
So when I went looking for IE6, SP2 download on the various Microsoft sites,
I couldn't find it. I did find IE6, SP1.
It seems that MS wants to promote IE7, RC1 without the appropriate warning
that it is still beta and you could experience problems with it.
I downloaded & installed IE7 but learned later that the MS newsgroup doesn't
even have a forum for IE7.
After your reply, I uninstalled IE7 and somehow an icon remained on my
desktop for Internet Explorer. When I clicked on the icon, it took me to IE6,
SP2. I don't know how this happened.
So now I will continue to use IE6.

I understand that if you uninstall IE7, all should revert back to IE6 - it
would appear that this has happened correctly - there are some that were not
so lucky.
I am pleased to read that it went well - and hope it stays so.
Rgds
Antioch
