Hi,

On certain pages, a Security Warning dialog pops up and asks if I want
to install some software. This gets really annoying sometimes. There is a
box to check to always say yes for this company, but is there any way to
make it always say no for this company?

The best I could do was to disable Download Signed ActiveX controls in
IE but now instead of popping up a prompt, it keeps popping up a dialog
telling me that the page may not display correctly. I don't want ANY
dialogs.

So is there any way to auto say no to all from a company, or
alternately, is there a way to disable the "not display correctly"
notification dialog?

thanks

Alec,

I don't know how to enable the PC to say NO to everything, but regarding the
last question you might try Internet options>advanced tab>check "disable
script debugging">Uncheck "display a notification about every script
error">Apply>OK out.

Also if this is a "windows Messenger" type of message box you might want to
disable it. For W98/se add/remove programs>windows setup tab>scroll down to
system tools and highlight>details>scroll down to WinPopup and uncheck
it>OK>OK out.

Hi Alec,

It sure might help iof you tell us something about those prompts. Installing
something like Macromedia Flash player or Adobe Acrobat Reader will not harm
your computer...

Kind regards

It's not Flash or Adobe, I've already got those. It's those site where
the creators like to fiddle around with the technologies so they put activex
controls and stuff all over the place to do nusance little things. Upon
entering the page the dialog pops up and says do you want to install this
application? yes, no, always trust this source. I don't want to have to
click no each time. I want an "always DIStrust this source" option (very
short-sighted of MS to not include the option - yes, yes, I know, if you
don't trust that place, then why would you go to that page; well there are
many circumstances where that's the case).

Anyawy, I can disable ActiveX controls but then IE (IE itself) pops up a
box saying this page may not display correctly with the settings you have
selected every time I go to those pages. That's also annoying having to
always click ok.
