I just downloaded and installed the critical updates for
WindowsXP now my network (an old -coaxial cable- and
small -3 computers-) is dead. I know my IP and subnet
addresses are fine because I just double checked them. I
am stumped. The network worked before the downloads. Any
help would be appreciated.

Peer-to-peer network or server-base network? DHCP?

Can you ping the other systems?

can you ping each other? also make sure not firewall running on the LAN
connection.

I found my own solution. I HAD to use the network wizard,
which I never had to use beore, and make a disk to use on
my other machines. Network is up and running.

Peer to peer but I have it working now. I HAD to use the
network wizard and make a disk to use on the other
computers. Thanks.
