security system disabled problem

I recently installed Norton Antivirus 2008 and when I run Spybot
Search and Destroy, it tells me that Windows Security System is
disabled. The message is"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLLER
_SET\SERVICES\WSCSVC\START=W=2." Is Norton doing this and how do I
reset it. Do I change it to START=W=1? Will this do anything to Norton?
Any help will be appreciated.
 
You have to 'dance with the guy who brought you'. Pick an app for protection.
Letting them war over who is the boss is not going to help you any.

I'm just trying to find out if the registry change was caused by NAV
or if another program is responsible. BTW when I open Security Center,
it says the firewall is on. I've had much more spam since I installed
NAV.
