I have a newly formatted hard drive (WinXP) after a "crash". Someone sent
me a URL for his house on a real estate site and I only get the "Red X". He
said it might be a security setting. Where should I look, and how should I
change it? TIA.

In the internet explorer window, near the top of the window click on
Tools>Internet Options, in there select the tab saying security. By clicking
on each of the Interne, Local intranet, Trusted sites, and Restricted sites
you will be able to change the settings by either moving the slider below it
or choosing a Custom Level.

Hi Joy :-)

YOu don't mention what kind of images they are supposed to be, but, try the
following and see if it helps:

First - Do you have an accelerator supplied by your ISP? If so, try turning
it off.
It works by reducing image size (and therefor quality) for downloads.

Try clearing the IE cache. IE>Tools>Options>General>Delete files (and
delete offline content.)
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Zone Alarm Pro can block Images in IE

1. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Security>Custom level>reset custom
level to Medium or Low
2. Go into IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy>set the slider to Medium or Low
3. Uncheck "remove private headers" for all sites.
4. Go to this site and read on adjusting the Privacy settings in ZA. It will
explain how to customize on a per site basis.

Thanks for all the suggestions, Jan and Ryan. I got into the site from a
different "direction", went to the home page, then "found" the particular
house. A window popped up telling me to download or update MacroMedia
(which I guess I "lost" with the formatting). Eventually it worked,
although it took several tries. It's a slide show, showing the various
rooms of the house (plus the outside, yard, etc.)

Thanks for the suggestions. Sorry I didn't reply. I got around finding the
real estate page by starting at their home page, doing search for the state;
county; town, and found the home that way.
