Group: I would like to ask a very basic question, and I apologize for being
just a user with minimal computer literacy. I am concerned about the
exponential increase in virus propagation times, while it seems to me that
writing patches is probably taking about the same amount of time.
Therefore, warnings about spreading new viruses and worms are more important
than ever. Let's assume that, working with XP, I want to close all ports so
I don't get infected, but without turning my computer off because I want to
be able to download the patch as soon as it becomes available. Is there a
simple way to do this? Thanks!
