Mike

Hi,
I'm connecting to my office server (DSL -> win2k Server) from my home office
(XPpro -> DSL).
My question is, how safe is the connection? I'm connecting as an
administrator and I don't feel to comfortable about it.
TIA
Mike

Assuming that this is a TS connection the security level would depend on
what encryption level you are using for TS and whether or not you're using a
VPN. Of course nothing is absolutely safe, but encrypted traffic over a VPN
is pretty darn close.

Thank you for your reply.
I would imagine it's a TS connection. I'm using XPpro's remote console
connecting to a remote access terminal on win2k server.
The setup of the TS on win2k was chosen as it was...its defaults.
If it is not a TS connection how am I then connecting? I'm a bid confused!

Wouldn't either TS encryption OR VPN be OK?

A VPN will be most secure but of course it's not always a realistic option
for everyone. Encrypted TS traffic is also pretty good depending on the
level the encryption is set to.
