I just today fixed my secure site problem (SSL) by deleting my profile which
was corrupted.
I was not able to access secure sites or Windows Update page.
My operating system is Windows XP. Restart your system and log on as
Administrator. If you are not able to do this, create another profile and
give it full administrative rights and password it.
Restart system and log on to Windows in this profile. This will allow you
to delete your present profile.
Restart system and log on to this new administration profile and then create
a new profile as before. You will have to configure IE and Outlook Express
again and all of your other personal settings that you had before the
deletion of profile.
This was what fixed my problem. Hope you have good luck with it.
