I applied the latest security patch from Microsoft on
Friday. Since then I've had all sorts of problems with
internet connections etc. However, my biggest concern is
that I'm no longer able to run my firewall(Zone Alarm) and
Virus Software (F-Prot) because each time I try to load
them I get a 'Memory Access Violation at Kernel32'
message. Has anyone got any ideas? I later removed the
patch but it hasn't solved the problem. I've now re-
applied it. I've also swapped my memory boards around and
removed each in turn - again with no effect!

I do hope you mean one that you downloaded yourself from the MS site rather
than something that arrived via emails.

It was on the CNN news all yesterday that there's a new
virus/worm that takes over your computer. At the time, it
had affected about 800 computers. Symantec has a fix for
free so go pick it up ok? Good luck and isn't it shameful
that individuals will continue to ruin our lives.
