security patch XP compatibility

I have downloaded patch against blaster. Attempt to
install download gives error message: not compatible with
my version of XP (professional). I'm using 32 bit.
Help, please? Thx. FM
 
What is the exact error message?
Start/Run
Type "winver" ENTER
What exactly is on the line beginning "Version..."?
