I have added a user from a domain to my Win2K Pro client
machine and given him User rights to the machine. When i
try and run certain apps I get this Program Error message
stating "sbclient.exe has generated errors and will be
closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created."

I have looked at the Dr. Watson error log and can't make
anything of it. If I change the users permissions to
Power User then I can run the application sbclient.exe. I
want to keep the user with plain User security. How do I
get around this? I know it has to deal with permissions
on files folders, or the registry.

Thanks

-Scott

Three choices:

1) Make the user a Power user (you don't want this I know)
2) Change the machine to "Compatibility" security template
3) Remove legacy apps that don't respect tighter Win2000
security restrictions

It's a feature. They tightened the security and made Power User
(or loosening it with Compatxx.inf template) a choice.
