I receive and error in my system event log stating the
security manager failed to start due to the following
reason.
The system could not find the specified file.
When I check the path for the security manager service it
reads
c:\winnt\sys32\mbeb\mof\bad\usr32\web\backup\svchost.exe
When I try to browse this path, the system restricts
access.
This seem like an odd path to svchost.
Is security manager a valid service which is part of
Windows 2000 or is it added by some hacking software?
How can I know if it is Microsoft product?
I have other Win 2000 systems which do not have this
service.
Any help would be appreciated.
