Hello,
This is for all the Win XPe gurus out there. We are
trying to make a win XPe image with an admin and user. We
need to restrict the user rights to bare minimum. We
figured out a few things like preventing deletion. we
need to figure out more ways to control access.
1. How do we disable right click in the user account
2. how do we show only a minimum number of components in
control panel for user versus a full number in admin
3. How do we set up the accounts such that the when
started the terminal goes straight into user account and
he doesnot see the logon screen at all.

Any help/suggestions are welcome and will be appriciated.
thanks
Sid

Hi Sid,

If you are in an active directory environment you can
control pretty much anything at the user level, but if you
are not I would suggest using a 3rd Party app to lock down
hotkey access and such. I would suggest the one we are
using. It is called Secure Desktop. You can find it on
the web just do a search on google for it. It is made by
Visual Automation Inc. It is a very good product and I
recommend it highly. We are using it as the shell, and I
am able to lockdown almost everything that I don't want
users to get to. This app will take care of what you are
talking about and a alot more.

Hi Again Sid,

I didn't answer question 3. You can accomplish this by
pulling in the autologon component and configuring it for
the user you want to automatically login.
