I need to set up a log on for some employees to be able to logon to XP Pro
but to be able to run 1 job or another but not be able to access the
internet.
Can this be done.. If so how would I go about doing it.

I suppose there are many ways to accomplish this. I'd install a
firewall like Sygate or ZoneAlarm and then use the password protection
to block all outgoing traffic for the browser and any other
applications that you'd like to block.

The problem with that is all users would be prohibted from that computer.
Some of the other users would need internet access thru the network.

Hi Alan,

Too keep an user from surfing the Web, try this: you put him as
Administrator, and in Control Panel > Internet Options, Connections
tab, you define for him an 'inexistent' proxy. Later you remove his
account from the administrator group with lusrmgr.msc

Good luck, hope this helps
