security in windows vista

what is the sense of so many security options on vista?? i have spent most of
this day on disabeling them because i was unable to install the drivers which
i needed. i also have problems with these stupid security settings and they
only cause trouble. and the incompability of win vista with win xp software
is also realy disturbing
 
The security that is there is to prevent things like spyware and viruses from
affecting the system if protection is not present, and also to prevent other
corrupt files from doing damage to the system. The UAC settings are getting a
big revamp in future builds from what I've heard and read, so the security
dialogs asking for permission and such should get much less annoying in the
