security holes..

According to info supplied by a well known Adware
detector, there are "security holes" in Internet Explorer
that can only be "fixed" by a patch issued by Microsoft.
I refer to the "DSO Exploit" issue.
Are there any "fixes" in the works that address this
issue. (I have a registry edit "fix" that is a "work
around" which does not allow the objectionable program to
run....) I am reluctant to initiate this edit.
The adware is associated with several registry keys:
Hkey_Users, etc.

Basically what's happening is Spybot is finding that the security setting
for "Download Unsigned ActiveX controls" for the (normally) hidden
"My Computer" zone in Internet Explorer is not set to disabled.
However, the fact that Spybot isn't properly fixing this is just a simple Sypbot
bug that hopefully will be fixed soon by Spybot.

Visit http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?showtopic=15308
for additional info.

Make sure you visit the Windows Update website and download any
recommended Critical Updates.

Ensure you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2.
This will fix the DSO Exploit - HOWEVER SpyBot will still give false
positives (if that is what you are using. There are/were going to fix this
in an update to there product)
