I have a database which is almost built and have a
question about allowing users to do certain things or not.
I wish to have some users edit project information that
they work on but only view information that others are
working on. for example, I have 3 regions (we shall call
them A, B and C) of which each user user shall be
affiliated with one region (a user may be assigned to more
than one region). Users that are affiliated with
region "A" can fully edit and modify their region A data
while they can only view (read) regions B and C. The main
Project table where the data resides has these regions
defined.
Would using Access Security by setting up groups and users
be the best way to handle this? I want the ability to add
and delete users quickly. I know that i wish to associate
users that belong to a "South" group anly be able to edit
project infomation that is in the "South" area. Is this
making sense to anyone?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
