I've set up a hyperlink to show an OUtlook form I've
designed within my presentation. When i press the link, I
get a security message warning me that the file may
contain viruses and if I still want to open it. How can I
disable this?

Hi Scott,

Change your macro security setting by clicking on Tools,
Macros, Security and making appropriate changes.

You can try to lower your security setting, but I'm not confident that it
will do any good. Go to Tools > Options > Security > Macro security and
lower it to Medium. You could also try using Action Settings > Run Program
to open Outlook and from there open the form. That is more likely to
suppress the message.

Hi Ms G,
Thanks fo rthe reply, but my Macro settings are already
at Low security level and the message is not the normal
macro check. It's a Micorsoft Office warning adn it
states:
- shows file path

"Some files can contain viruses or otherwise be harmful
to your computer. It is important to be certain that this
file if from a trustworthy source.

Would you still like to open this file ? "

The hyperlink worked fine when i used it with '97, but
this security alert is only shown on XP.

Any ideas?
Cheers,
Scott

As you can imagine, security issues and risks have dramatically increased
since 1997. You can expect to see much more rigid security monitoring
throughout your life, including your PowerPoint life, thanks to our changing
world. This is just one instance. <G> Any file that can potentially
trigger code, is considered a potential security risk. I don't know
anything about Outlook forms, but apparently Office is alerting you to the
possibility that this *file type* is capable of containing something
harmful.

Thanks for that, do you know any way of turning these
alerts off? I know that in excel there is a displayalerts
property of the applicaiton object.
Many thanks.
Scott
