Security Certificate Has Expired.

I have an account on an investment site that is suddenly giving me a
message "Security Certificate Has Expired or Is Not Valid". It recommends I
close the page immediately and not enter any secure info. I have used these
site for several years. What does the message mean and what should I do?
 
I would recommend following the message. I would also contact the investment
site owners and notify them that their SSL certificate has expired.
