Security center not working

When I start the windows security center, under the security essentials there
will be a message that says 'The Security Center is currently unavailable
because the "Security Center" service has not started or was stopped. Please
close this window, restart the computer (or start the "Security Center"
service), and then open the Security Center again.' But I don't know where to
start the Security Center!

Go to Control Panel and double click Administrative Tools.
In the Administrative Tools folder, double click Services.
In the Services console, scroll down to Security Center.
Right click on this entry and select Properties from the menu.
Make sure the Startup type is set to Automatic.
Under Service status, hit the Start button.
Click OK.
Note: Check that the Windows Management Instrumentation service
has the same settings, Automatic and Started.
