security breakthrough

I have been infected by a internet based download firm (films,music etc) who
insist I have to sign up for a sevice I'm not interested in. Unfortunately a
picture/and music reminder keeps defeating my security"pop up blocker"
requesting( to stop these reminders sign up etc)
Can anyone advise on how to remove this irksome problem ?

This sounds like some of that "movieland" malware. If this is what you
have, this link seems to have a good removal procedure:

After you go through the specifics of removing the movieland thing (or
its variant), it would be wise to do the general scanning. Do all
prep/finishing work and follow instructions to do all scans in Safe
Mode.

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting
this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local version of BigStoreUSA).
