I'm running Access 97 with data and security files on a
server, and app file on the local drive. When I attempt
to compact the data file, I get the message:
"Records cannot be read, no read permissions on
pathname\databasename.mdb".
The message doesn't name any specific objects, so it looks
like a general message. My login gives me full access to
all the tables contained in the database, and I've
verified this by going into security and checking each
object. I did find an article mentioning this error
message with respect to specific objects, but as you can
see above, none are identified. The article does mention
hiding system tables to clear this, but they were already
hidden.
Any ideas?
