I accidently shut off my Security Alert window on an XP2000 Home system (used in a HP/Compaq Pressario 2500 laptop).I,m going nuts trying to figure out how to re-enable it so I know when I'm on/not on a secure site. Novice user so excuse my ignorance. tks

In IE there is a handy icon at the bottom of the webpage,
when browsing on a secure site a yellow lock will be
present. No pop-up is required for notification. Its
often the Second | | away from Internet.

Hope I helped,
~ Mitch

Mitch.. tks, I just chk my e-mail and saw the lock flash across bottom right. should it stay on or just flashes?

Hi, Gil.

The lock icon should stay in your Status Bar as long as you are connect to
the Secure Site. Also, the address should begin with https:// (note the
"S") instead of http:// (without the "S").

When you are continuing a thread, please click the Include Original button
at the top of the Compose window so that the prior messages will be
included. It's difficult for us (and you) to keep your new post in context
without that.
