security agents buggy

few examples;

http://www.btinternet.com/~steveswickedwebsite/msas1.jpg
all agents active, says 25/25 agents enabled when hovering
over this particular section, application agents

http://www.btinternet.com/~steveswickedwebsite/msas2.jpg
inside application agents, it says in-active and an option
to de-activate? no checkpoints listed, clicking stuff on
bottom right does nothing

http://www.btinternet.com/~steveswickedwebsite/msas3.jpg
internet agent only manages to show 1 checkpoint (despite
reporting active and 25/25 on the previous screen)

and generally just very buggy when trying to
activate/deactivate. never sure if somethings active or
not... is this known, fixable?

Hi

Something looks totally corrupt for you, first try this and see if it
helps:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware

If this doesnt help, reinstall MSAS.

thank you so much. that worked perfectly!

btw, just for any troubleshooting interest you may have,
before posting this i had already tried unistalling and
before reinstalling, downloading a new copy, deleting any
left over folders and cleaning the registry but after
reinstalling it was the same.

hmm, was just wondering - do you know if the fault was in
the display or the actual protection? just wondering if i
had been unprotected all this time - never had any
warnings from it, but then again i am generally a safe
browser (manual scans with other programs never bring
much up)

Hi

Well, I haven`t seen this bug with screen dumps as you show, great !
and this is a wellknown bug which often can be traced to
Norton/Symantec users. ;)

Good luck with MSAS and it will be an update before July 31 !

Well, check your agents again, I am not sure about it but I believe
that this is only a GUI problem.

Maybe some other can answer ?

I think the same, but it is also guesswork.

Create a subdirectory called winlogon.exe in \windows to find out!
(and wait 20 seconds or so)
