Hi, Vasal.

Let me be the first to say FIX YOUR DATE.

Setting it a week ahead of us is considered bad manners. Just like cutting
into the head of a line. The responses you get might be just as
ill-tempered as in that situation.

Fix your system date, then post your question again.

I concur with the date issue, either fix it and repost or come back next
Monday afternoon for an answer.

I think I'll wait until I catch up with you before I can comment on this.
Since I'm about 6 days out of your time zone, it may be a while.

Is there a way to protect the contents of an external HDD from
unauthorised viewing/writing. In most USB Flash Memories there is a
program which after running it the USB Flash requires a password to
access it everytime it is connected to a computer. Is there something
like that for HDDs?

Your time is set incorrectly.

Repost after you have fixed your date problem.
