Not very savy in the whole security area but read Joan Wilds, Lynn Trapps
info and some other and got it to do what I needed from home office.

Wondering if I can secure a database on my home computer - zip it up and
email it - with the desktop shortcut(to the secure database) to our main
office.( hard to travel to and would like to get it there sooner than later.)

Not sure if this is possible or if security is computer specific - not sure
how to handle copying and also sending the shortcut.???

Please let me know,
Thanks so much,
Barb

You need three components, the two you mention plus the Workgroup
Information File. The WIF has an "mdw" file extension and is the custom one
you created when you secured your mdb file. Note that the shortcut will
need to be modified to reflect the new environment (server name, share name,
etc).
