I'm using Access XP and have secured my database via the
guide and now have .mdb, .mbd-shortcut, .bak, .mdw -files
in my folder. The .mbd-shortcut contents an searchpath in
it's targetfiled which opens the databse with the right
workgroup (via the mdw.file).
In Win XP the searchpath to documents tends to be very
long (C:\DocumentsandSetting\My Documents\\\\....).
My problem is that the targetfield in the .mdb-shortcut-
properties-window won't take the whole searchpath and
therefore i can't open my database.
Anyone else have this problem?
It seems to be limited to aprox. 213 letters.
Of course I can create new folders on the desktop and
thereby shorten the searchpath, but I'm not satisfied with
that.
Very thankful for your time spent on an answer..
