Secure vs nonsecure popup message

Why has this damn browser starting giving me "secure and
nonsecure elements" warning popups, when I had
SPECIFICALLY set it not to do that in
Tools->Options->Advanced?

Weirder still. This new message has no "don't show this
message in the future" checkbox. There is NO WAY to shut
it off.

Try this:
1. Open IE, click Tools > Internet Options
2. Click the Security tab, select Internet and click "Custom Level"
3. Under the Miscellaneous section, click "Enable" radio button for the
"Display mixed content" option
4. Click OK, click OK again

I am experiencing similar issues on a web site. The real issue is not
how to turm IEs nagging message off but to identify the non-secure
items and see if there is an alternate way to put them on the page so
that they are secure. But this seems to be like many MS messages
(Somethings messed up but I am not going to give you a clue as to
what!). I do not think that the user should have to loosen security
for all sites because of one. So the real questions are... 1) How can
we identify what IE thinks is the Non-Secure items? and 2) What are
common fixes for the reasons these items might be considered
Non-Secure.

Anybody have a clue on this subject?
