secure sites, DNS errors

I seem to be having the same problem that a lot of people
are having...any secure site that I try to access (such
as e-mail accounts, online bank accounts, secure websites
for online courses, even microsoft's update pages)
returns me with a DNS error. Pages which aren't secure
seem to be working just fine. What is going on? I
haven't made any changes to IE that would cause problems,
and I've tried just about every fix out there that people
have suggested. Nothing seems to work. At first I
thought it was just my computer because there was another
problem that took Microsoft 2 days to fix. Then I
thought maybe it was the schools ISP, but then checked
the LAN in the classrooms and everything was ok (I use
dial-up). So then I tried to access those sites with
AOL, still nothing! So I've ruled out isp problems, and
because there are so many similar posts, I'm wondering if
theres some virus or something going around.
Has anyone had the same problem and successfully fixed
it? Please please please let me know!
Thanks!
Sidler.

I don't have an answer, just a similar problem I am hoping
someone can assist. When I attempt to log on to such
sites, it will continue to take me back to the login page
for that site. I must have access to my student web site
for school and I cannot get to it. Any ideas?
Thanks!

The proposed solutions did not work for me. Has anyone have any succes
with the recommendations of the website? I noticed that Mike and two
ther people have replied to each post (more than 100 for sure) about a
securesite access problem with the same recommendation.
