secure remote zone updates

Is there a way to secure a dynamic update to a public zone ?

If you're talking about DNS, then this must be configured on the DNS server.
The zone must be AD integrated.

I want to have remote routers (broadband) update thier own host record in a
zone (for my clients). Since the zone is publicly accessible, it is not AD
integraded. However, I can still turn on Dynamic Updates, but in order to
make it work I have to choose "allow secure and non-secure" or something
like that.

I have found little on how to pin down the security so that only particular
hosts can update zones across the internet. I guess I am trying to do
something like an easydns.com or dyndns.com kinda thing with 2000. But I am
not trying to build that kind of a service.

Does that make sense?
