Secure File Transfer

I need to transfer files securely from multiple remote
locations to my main box here in my office. The remote
boxes are running Windows 2000 Pro, and will have a
script that when run, will have them connect
automatically to my server and upload the files. The
next day, an offsite location will then access my server
and download all the files. (My server serves as
an "aggregation point" and is running XP Pro.) Is there
a cost effective way (ie less than $200 in software or a
feature that comes with XP Pro) to do this? I see a
feature called Web Folders / WebDAV. If I set this up on
my XP Pro server, will my Win 2000 Pro boxes be able to
upload files automatically? Also, will the remote site
that will download the aggregated files the next day be
able to connect if they are not running XP Pro?
