Secure Db Read-Only vs Full

I'd like a simple way to secure the Access2000 or XP db
so some users could open only as Read-Only while the
other group as full rights. Is there an easier way then
using Access Security to accomplish this? Need to have
multiple users using the db at the same time. Is there a
way to password protect a form with subforms so a
different version would open with full rights?

Thx

You could "roll your own" but doing so always takes longer than learning MS
Access User Level Security, and your solution will not be as secure as the
builtin Access security (how would you stop someone from opening your
Pemissions table and altering the data there?). ULS isn't foolproof - there
are several services that will retrive usernames and passwords for a fee -
but it's better than anything you can build yourself.

That said, PetersSoftware offers LASsie (Light Application Security) for
Access ... http://www.peterssoftware.com/las.htm ... for $25.00 US it's
probably worth the investment, as you will spend quite a few hours
developing this on your own (unless you just want the learning experience).
