Secure database and merging with Word files

Hi,
How do you merge a query from a user level secured Access 2003 database with
a Word merge file.

We have a database that has been secured with user level security and is
split into a front and back end. Prior to securing the database, there were
a number of Word files that were merged with data from the unsecured
database. The merge was performed by opening a query and selecting "Merge
it with Microsoft Word."

Now the merge won't work even after typing in the user name and password.
The user is a member of the Admins group.

The only way I can think of that could possibly yield good results is
to do the mailmerge more programmatically. Then when you specify a
datasource, use an ODBC connection string that can include the
username/password. See connectionstrings.com for details.

Or have the app export a CSV file that Word can pick up and work with.
