I am trying to set up a database for a volunteer
organization and they want their members to updates their
own information but not have access to other member's
data. They also want to have certain people who can
access all the data in the database and certain officers
limited to certain database fields. My question is can
this be done in access and if so how?
Thank you all in advance
Please forward suggestions to me at (e-mail address removed)

Hi Marc,

You would have to implement User Level Security in Microsoft Access. See
the following to begin with:

ACC2000: Microsoft Access Security FAQ Available in Download Center
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;207793

ACC2000: How to Simulate Column-Level Security in Microsoft Access
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;304315

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.

to insure you are current with all security patches, not just MS03-026."
