Hi there, i am in a computer course right now, and i have to complete an assignment where the first page has no header, and the header will actually start on the second page. I was told by my professor to put next page section breaks in, and this would allow me to change my header, and whatever other formatting i needed to change. I did this, but the header still continues on, it is as if word is not recognizing that the section break is in the document. Not sure exactly why i cant get it to work, if anyone could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated

Thanks alot, Ashley

Hi Ashley

Just check out which section break you have given in the
first page, but it should be next page. If you have given
as next page as your section break then go to the second
page and click View Header and Footer. You may notice
that "same as previous" is provided. Using the Header and
Footer toolbar disable same as previous. Now hopefully it
will start working.

Helps a bit.

Hi Ashley,

You do not need section breaks if all you want is 2 headers: one for the
first page and another for all other pages.

Place your cursor in the first page, make sure you have no section breaks in
the document,
From File, choose Page Setup, from the Layout tab, click First page
different, click OK and you are done

If your teacher insists that you do it with section breaks, then carefully
read Maya's post.
