Secondary window

Initially when clicking on a link in a main window, a secondary window is
displayed.When clicking on a second link in the main window, the topic is
replaced in the secondary window but the secondary window is hidden behind
the main window. How do I keep a secondary window displayed in front of the
main window when replacing the topic in the secondary window after clicking
on a second link in the main window?

Hi,
Assuming Windows XP, this sounds like the situation addressed in this
article:
886217- New program window appears behind all other open windows on Windows
2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003

Note (in that article) that TweakUI can make the registry edit, if you don't
wish to do it manually.

The UNDO file at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm (line #66
right-side) makes the same registry edit.

If that's not the fix in your case, I would start disabling third-party
toolbars, BHOs, other add-ons to IE, etc. One of them may be causing this.

My questions is similar, yet different. When I open a link from, say, an
e-mail, it "over-rides" my main IE window. Seems like it used to open a
separate IE window. How can I change that back?

In IE go to Tools...Internet Options...Advanced tab, Browsing section,
uncheck the box by "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts", click Apply,
click Okay.
