Does the Master Slave Hard Drive have to be formatted
with XP (NTFS). I formatted the hard drive and it is
formatted in Fat32 but seems to be working OK. I am
using it for storage only for my Photos and files. If it
must be formatted in the NTFS format, how do I do this?
Thanks

You do not have to format your slave to NTFS. If you want to, just go to
the Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, Administrative Tools and
click Computer Management. Look under Storage. If you don't want to loose
the data on it you could "convert" it. Go to Help and Support, enter
convert and follow the directions.

It doesnt have to be NTFS. However NTFS utilizes disk space
better. It creates 4kb clusters versus 32 for FAT32. This
means that if a file is 6kb it will use 1 1/2 NTFS clusters
but even though only 1 FAT32 cluster you effectively lose
the other 26kb. The other issue is reliability and
stability. NTFS is superior to FAT32 in this regard as well.
When formatting you will lose all data stored on it so dont
forget to backup. Right click the drive and select format.
There should be a drop down box to select NTFS but only if
the operating system is on an NTFS partition.
