Second User Account Can't Change Homepage

Hi Everyone,

I just created a second user account in Windows XP Pro. (with administrator
privileges) and whenever I try to change the homepage on that account, it
always reverts back to MSN.com. However on my primary account, it will
continue to allow me to change my homepage. I've run two reliable
anti-spyware programs and removed everything they found, but that doesn't
help (so I don't think I've been "hijacked"). I have also searched for
specific registry keys that a help document on microsoft.com said could be
preventing a homepage change, but they are not on my system.

As a test, I created a third user account and tried to change my homepage on
that account, and the same thing happens. Why is Windows letting me change
the homepage on my primary account, but not any other new accounts that I
create?

Thanks,
Brian

Hi,
Are you running any toolbars, BHOs, security programs that might be
protecting the homepage? How about Spybot (Tools> IE Tweaks) or Spyware
Blaster? Take a look at the settings of any program which might be locking
your homepage.

Hope this helps,
Don

Thanks, Don.

It ended up being a Norton program that was causing the problem!

It's all fixed now.

Best Wishes,
Brian
