Has anyone sucessfully removed the adware and everything that goes along
with the second thought.com adware? If so , I would be interested in finding
out how. I am wondering if f-disking and reformatting would be easier and
more thorough? It is really agrivating...Thanks Tom

No DO NOT F-DISK unless you don't mind losing ALL of your info.

Get hijack this from majorgeeks.com under the spyware tools section
there's a tuturial on it at http:// hjt.wizardsofwebsites.com/

& a great fourm at spywareinfo.com/forums/
When you download it put it in it's own directory like C:\hijack this
if it's in a temp dir the people helping won't like it & tell you to
move it.

But the tutorail got me through it

I picked it up the other night along with some other
%$$^&^(*^) trash!

I shut down IE in time before everything got completely
installed. I used both SpyBot Search and Destroy 1.2 and
AdAware 6.0.

Spybot found 9 items while AdAware found 24. I used AdAware
to clean things up plus I had to go in and manually clean
out a few files.

I'd recommend Lavasoft AdAware. It's free.

Yup, certain people in here get a tad pissy when url's are posted, so I
figured that's the best way to appease the majority of people

ummm, no... i think you're confused... the only url's people get uppity
about in here are urls to *malware*... if you're posting urls to useful
tools or information, far better to post good urls so that the poor
technologically unsophisticated folks who are looking for help can get
to it easily...

Some people dislike the posting of URLs (especially without
any accompanying text hinting at what the URL is for) because
they are reading offline and can't investigate them at that time.
It would make no difference to them if it was broken or not.

The way that you post URLs, with hints, is perfectly acceptable
imo. There is no reason to break them.
